krazy air

Mia's reward for meeting her goals was an afternoon at Krazy Air.
The whole family joined her - a rare treat indeed!

"there's a roach on me!!!!"

"GET IT OFF!  GET IT OFF!  GET IT OFF!!
No problem, Quinny.
Just as soon as I snap a picture.
FYI - it was actually a black cricket.

a job well done

Mia's reward for reaching her goals this week was going to our
neighbor's birthday party at Bounce U.
I am very proud of this kid!

hike with lauren

Beautiful morning with a wonderful friend!

fire hydrant

While walking home from church on Sunday, Quinny stopped at the fire hydrant, jumped on, and said, "Take my picture!"
Then Mimi photo bombed it.
Quinn thought this picture would be a great addition to the blog.
So, here it is, Quinn, just for you!!

banana dog

We have been adding a few recipes to our breakfast routine.
We had banana dogs this morning.
It meets all of my requirements:
easy
delicious
nutritious
At least I think it's delicious - Mimi gave it a thumbs up.

deep thoughts

1-12-2015

Mia: Mom, you know how there are 7 billion people in the world?

Me: Yeah.
Mia: I wonder what percentage are hobos?

rainbow

Who knew the pot of gold was at Red Mountain?
The size of this rainbow is difficult to see in this picture.
It was gigantic and brilliant!

ice skating

Mimi and Quinny had a few goals this week that were pretty big.
They set their goals, made plans, decided on a reward, and then met the goals.
Needless to say, the reward was ice skating.
However, the way Q skates, it would more appropriately be termed ice walking.
I was very proud of both girls this week!

school

By this time next week, everyone will be back in school except for Robert.
Haley is trying something a little different this semester - online classes.
It will be a new experience for her, and I'm sure she thinks one of the benefits is being able to wear your pajamas to school.

cookie friday

This is a common occurrence in our kitchen - Robyn with friends, late at night, baking.
Robyn and Eric often volunteer to bring in cookies for cookie Friday.
Robyn is always thoughtful and bought chocolate chips with caramel, not peanut butter - just in case someone in the class has an allergy.

soccer

Eric is a busy boy these days.
School, soccer, home, eat, homework, sleep, repeat.
If you want to spend some time with him, this is where you will have to be.

picture of the day

I started school a few weeks back, and I realized that there were some things that fell by the wayside as a result...blogging and dinner to be precise.
So this year, I am trying something a little different.
I am going to post a picture of the day.
It will perhaps include a caption, but no promises.
Today's post will actually include two pictures.
That's because I was going to start yesterday, but I didn't get to it.

Here we go...

On Monday while doing homework, Quinny told me she was going to shut her eyes while she wrote her spelling words.
I told her not to, but it is Quinny's MO to do whatever she wants to, so she did it anyway.
The funny thing was that her penmanship was about ten times better with her eyes shut!
1-5-2015
On Tuesday morning, we were walking out to the bus stop around 7:00am.
It was still dark outside, and Quinny kept asking questions.

Why is it dark?
Why is the moon out?
Why am I going to school in the middle of the night?

Good questions indeed!
The little light hovering over Q's head is the moon.

day after christmas

We headed to Pinetop for a few days of skiing and relaxation.
After we got the condo warmed up, everyone had a great time.
I'm not sure how Eric and Haley have so successfully avoided the camera, but apparently I need to get more pictures of those two!
They were on the trip with us - I promise.

Quinny fell asleep in the car and then woke up right as I was taking her picture.

Robyn and Grandpa - the best selfie of the year!!

the month of christmas activities

December is one of the best months for concerts and activities!
I didn't get pictures of everyone doing all of their activities - I'm not sure how that happened.
Here are a few of them.
 Mimi's band concert
the activity days girls singing at the rest home

Robyn and Mimi at Mimi's choir concert
Mimi and Quinny at their dance recital

I took the kids shopping one day and decided to stop for some sushi.
I sent Robert a picture of Mimi and Q from the restaurant.
Not to be outdone, he went shopping with Robyn the next day and sent me this picture of them getting sushi.
Like I said, I didn't get pictures of every activity.
Eric had several soccer games, and Haley had a couple of choir concerts.
Robert worked a lot, and Robyn got really good grades this semester and applied to colleges.
In fact, Robyn has been accepted to every school she has applied to so far and has been awarded a few scholarships.
So far, her top choice is still Ohio State.

grammy's bday

 Grammy turned 77 in December!
There are so many things we love about Grammy, but one of the best things is her traditions!
She writes weekly letters.
We can always count on her to make family dinners delicious, fun, and nutritious.
We always look forward to gingerbread houses in December.
And everyone knows about the cookie tub in the freezer - always stocked with the best homemade cookies around!
This list could go on and on...
Needless to say, we love Grammy!!
