pj day with a side order of truth or dare

Yesterday was pajama day at Haley's school, so Quinny thought it would be a great idea if it was pajama day at her school, home.
Of course that's a great idea!
If I get to wear stretchy pants all day, I'm all in!
So we drove home, took off our dirty pajamas and put on clean pajamas.
Ahh, it should be pajama day everyday....

Anyway, I guess according to Quinny, pj day means you have to have a party, so she decorated my bathroom with ribbons and paper plates.
Then we had a dance party in the bathroom.
That was really cute being able to see ourselves in the mirror while dancing in my stretchies.

Later, Quinny went to her tumbling class in her pajamas.
She informed her teacher it was pajama day.
Miss Marie said, "Of course it is!"

Quinny made a new friend at swimming lessons that she called Elizabeth but later found out her name is Jasmine.
By the way, Jasmine is actually the mom of another child.
They then had to have conversation about the movie Aladdin.
That has nothing to do with pj day.  I just thought it was funny.

Then we went home where Mia quickly changed into her pjs and the party really started.
We had a quick game of Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board.
Mia was "levitated" the highest.
Quinny was jealous.

Then we had a rousing game of Truth or Dare.

Robyn was dared to hug and kiss Eric in front of his friend.
It took all of us to hold Eric down to accomplish this dare.
Oh, I love you!
I really do!!

Robyn dared Mia to drink a medicine cup full of soy sauce.
Bottoms up!
Do it, Mia!

That's right, I'm watching you!

Tastes good, huh?

Down the hatch - ha ha ha ha!!!

Quinny asked Brynn if she had ever peed in a cup.
No.

Mia asked me where the strangest place I ever pooped was.
You would have to be there to hear the answer.

Haley had to hold an ice cube under her arm until it melted.

Mia had to sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star in a deep voice.
Creepy.

Somehow Quinny didn't do anything.

We had loads of fun and laughed hard.
Well, Eric didn't.

hello college

I went to college about a million years ago.
Well, it seems like that long ago sometimes, and at other times it feels like yesterday.
Here's the photo proof below.
Haley joined me at my graduation.

And then Haley grew and grew and grew...
Well, not that much - she's only 5 feet tall and doesn't even weigh 95 lbs., but she's almost an adult!
For part of Haley's high school curriculum, they take a college course over at Scottsdale Community College on Tuesdays and Thursdays during their last semester of high school.
The five seniors pile into the teacher's car and get dropped off at SCC and then picked up a couple of hours later.

We headed over to the campus a few days ago to get Haley's book for the class.
The highlight of the outing was sitting on the yellow chairs.
They all wanted their pictures taken.
I woke up last night after having a stress dream that I was in Haley's college class.
I think I was actually her but really me starting over.
I was very relieved to wake up, but now I am stressed.
If I am already having dreams about college and she hasn't even officially graduated from high school, I am in for some very anxious years.
Quinny is only going to be in kindergarten next year!!
I have YEARS of college students!!
YEARS!!!
I can't have dreams like that every night.
Yikes.

By the way, Haley is as cool as a cucumber about the whole thing.
I asked her how her class was.
She said great.
With an attitude of no big deal, mom.

Do they have a class called
College & Career Success for Parents so You Don't Freakout?
Mia even posed for her picture.
This is probably exactly what she is going to look like when she gets to college - napping on a bench!

Here are a few random pics from the last week or so.

Mimi got a snorkeling mask for Christmas.
She has literally spent hours in the pool at swimming lessons snorkeling.
There is nothing to see except for a tile dolphin, however occasionally she dives down and comes up with some treasure like an earring that fell off or a bandaid.
I'm not sure what Robert was doing with the hat on, but I thought it was so funny I took his picture.
Howdy!!
 Field Trip Friday - 1-11-13
We went with our friends Lauren and Natalie to the zoo.
The highlight was riding the camel!
Giddy-up!
(What do you say when you ride a camel??)

 Field Trip Friday - 1-18-13
We went to BounceU with cousin Allison.
Quinny loved climbing to the top of this play structure.
It's no easy feat.  I've done it before!

At the end of our little outing, Q wanted me to take her picture.
No problem.
This was her first pose.
I said, "OK, Quinny, I got it.  Let's go."
Then she said, "How about this?"
 "Oh, and this!"
 "This one!"
 This is my personal favorite.

After we played and posed, we went to McDonald's for lunch and Chick-fil-A for ice cream.
I had no idea how good the treats at Chick-fil-A were!!
They are delightful.
We ate mini sundaes and warm chocolate chunk cookies.
Yum, yum!

sunday snapshot

Quinny says she wants to be a "cowguwul" when she grows up.

She has been begging to to ride a horse, buy a horse, pet a horse, see a horse, etc.

Robyn's good friend, Sarah, has horses.

Sarah is now Quinny's good friend.

Even though Quinny was a little scared to feed the horses or even touch them, she was thrilled that Sarah invited her over to meet her horses, Doc and Buddy.

Mimi was a little braver;  she fed them carrots and hay.

In the end, Quinny did finally feed Buddy some hay.

Next time she gets to ride them!  Yee-haw!!

20 years

“It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes

unhappy marriages.”

I was lucky to find love in my marriage.

I was unusually blessed with friendship.
