robyn visits ohio

Robyn visited our old stomping grounds a couple of weeks ago.
A wave of nostalgia washed over me when she sent me pics of our old homes.

I'm not sure what it is about this picture, but I love it!
It is by far my favorite picture she sent.
If you want more details about her trip, you are going to have to ask her...

youth conference

The day after we got home from California, Robert, Robyn, Eric, and I went with our church's youth group to youth conference.
We spent 3 1/2 days doing service, team building, eating, and having fun.
The nights were extremely cold, but the days were gorgeous.
Despite the frigid temps, everyone I talked to said it was an inspiring and fun weekend.
Eric and Peter helped clean the grounds at St. Vincent de Paul's in Phoenix.
Robert helped in the garden.
It was extremely hot, but that didn't stop this group.
Well, actually it did a little.
I think they started out with about 10-15 kids - this is how many were left.
Robert, BJ Allred, Doug Waldie, Cami Staker, Megan Tobler, Maddie Evans
Zach Peterson, Eric, Robyn, John Trendler
Lexi Allen, Robyn, Scott Tucker
One of the team building activities was making these boats.
Amazingly, they were seaworthy.
Only one kid capsized.

california

We wasted no time starting our summer vacation.
Shelle and I took the girls to La Jolla for a few days.
Quinny called it our guwrly guwrls trip.
The first day was pretty cold, and we didn't really get in the water.
By day two, the clouds left, it warmed up, and life was good.
Most of the time we just relaxed on the beach, but we did spend one day at Sea World.
After I got home, a friend of mine told me about a documentary (Black Fish) about the whales at Sea World.
It has put a significant damper on how I view Sea World.
That might be the last time I go.
